On the 12th April, BASF launched its anthrax-targeted new product Bicui in Guangzhou. It is worthy of note that participants present at the product launch ceremony are all “new star” distributors delegated by BASF in 2015. The “new star” channel is a brand-new distribution channel established by BASF, which is distinguished from the existing channel. With more new product being launched, BASF’s market share in China is expected to grow larger.

Anthrax causes serious damages in high-temperature and high-humidity environment, growers have to spend great effort on its control but with less effect. Bicui possesses the plant health function of AgCelence, being very effective in control of anthrax. Its active ingredients are pyraclostrobin 4% + dithianon 12%. Pyraclostrobin gives Bicui an excellent protected activity to enhance fruit quality while dithianon is of multiple function mechanisms. The combination of the 2 ingredients can increase fungicidal spectrum, serving as an extraordinary resistance management tool. Furthermore, Bicui has strong capability against rain wash, which ensures long-lasting effect. So far Bicui has been registered as against apple and jujube anthracnose, to be further extended to cover chili and citrus as against anthracnose.

Since last year, BASF began preparations for establishment of the “new star” distribution channel, which is separated from existing channel. The “new star” channel is going to be established as the 2nd national fungicide distribution channel. Up to date, the “new star” channel has absorbed over a dozen distributors, coming from China’s prime agricultural provinces like Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Hainan and Shandong.
