Recently Chinese Ministry of Agriculture announced following measures against 8 pesticides including 2, 4-D butyl ester and paraquat:
1. No longer to undertake and approve field trial, registration application and registration extension of 2, 4-D butyl ester.
2. No longer to undertake and approve field trial, registration application and registration extension of dicofol; from 1st July 2018, the use and sales of dicofol are prohibited in China.
3. The toxicity of paraquat is changed into “highly toxic”; paraquatfield trial and registration application shall be no longer undertaken forapproval. Except for the technical concentrate registration for export, paraquat registration extension application shall be no longer undertaken for approval.
4. Flubendiamide registration for rice applications is cancelled; from 1st July 2018, the use of flubendiamide in paddy rice is prohibited.
5. Carbofuran, phorate and isofenphos-methyl registrations for sugarcane applications are cancelled; from 1st July 2018, the use of carbofuran, phorate and isofenphos-methyl in sugarcane is prohibited.
6. Product containing aluminium phosphide must be sold in containers or bags with two layers, which has a good air tightness to prevent the ingredient from leakage. There must have warning messages on the containers or bags.
